The Atlanta Gladiators have developed a partnership with the Georgia Public Libraries. In a program called Hat Trick for Reading Challenge, all children who are part of the Atlanta Public Library (or metro area), and libraries in the Georgia counties of Fulton and DeKalb are eligible to win a ticket to an Atlanta Gladiators game for the 2017-18 ECHL season if he or she reads three books from June 1 to September 22.

The free ticket will be predetermined and the child (who attends a grade from kindergarten to grade 12) needs to be accompanied by an adult at the hockey game. The adult who accompanies the child must buy a ticket.

Also in order for the child to enter the  challenge, the parent is required to fill out a form on the Atlanta Gladiators website. On the form, a list of the three books the child read must be mentioned.

The Gladiators begin their 2017-18 ECHL regular season against the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida on October 13. The Gladiators will then host the Everblades at the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Georgia on October 20. Their home opener will be the Gladiators' third game of the regular season as they play the Everblades as well on October 14 in Estero.
